Art Design S1/S2: Is a foundational applications of the elements and principles of art. Through basic design projects, students will develop aesthetic awareness, as well as demonstrate knowledge of basic skills. Students will work in a variety of media.

Drawing / Painting S1/S2: Drawing and Painting 1/2 is a one-year introductory course in drawing and painting which will begin to develop students’ basic visual, aesthetic, and tactile perceptions. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of two-dimensional media, thereby expanding their artistic knowledge and skills. They will begin a study of the historical and cultural heritage of drawing and painting.

Studio Art, Drawing and Painting: This course may be repeated for a maximum of 25 units of credit. Emphasis will be placed on developing personal aesthetic values. course for the highly motivated art student who wishes to continue more individualized technical and theoretical instruction in drawing and painting. The art of various cultures, contemporary and historical artworks, and professional career opportunities will be studied.

Studio Art 2D, Advanced Placement:
AP Studio Art 2D portfolios are designed for students who are seriously interested in the practical experience of art. AP Studio Art 2D portfolios are reviewed by college, university and secondary school art instructors using rigorous standards. This class is intended to address two-dimensional (2-D) design issues.

CTE Art Courses (Raincross Only)
Digital Art: This introductory course looks at the various art making process, technologies, and mediums. Basic elements and principles of art will be taught as a foundation for crating artworks by hand an digitally.

Commercial Art: This two-semester long course is designed for students as a second year course in the digital arts CTE pathway for grades 10 through 12 who have an interest in computer-based and sale-able art. Students will develop design skills that can be applied to real-world applications by creating a range of artworks using industry standards design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
