The Educational Options Center opened in 1994 and is comprised of multiple schools offering a variety of academic programs including:

  • Summit View Independent Study for grades 10th-12th

  • Riverside Virtual School, a blended online virtual school for grades 1st-12th

  • Raincross High School, a continuation high school

  • Opportunity/COPE Program, for students on suspended expulsions

  • Comeback Kids, a county program for credit deficient students wishing to re-enroll in high school

  • State preschool/Head Start program

    RVS Named California Distinguished School
    Congratulations to RVS Students, Staff and Parents! RVS has been named: California Distinguished School 2019! The 2019 California Distinguished Schools Program recognizes California middle and high schools that have made exceptional gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education for all students. By using California’s multiple measures accountability system, the CDE has identified eligible schools based on their performance and progress on the state indicators as described on the California School Dashboard.

    Raincross Can Take Hands-On Classes!

    Hello  Parents/Guardians,

    This year, students in grades 10th-12th in Raincross HS will be able to sign up to attend four (4) hands-on classes at Vocademy. Vocademy is a one-of-a-kind education-focused makerspace that combines the best parts of school shop classes, trade schools, Research & Development labs, and more! Vocademy is located at 1635 Spruce St in Riverside.

    All students who complete the sessions will receive a certificate that can be added to their resumes and it will help them get a job in the future and they will earn 5 school credits towards graduation!

    Students will have a choice between the following classes: 3D Printing, Laser Cutting and Engraving, Machine Shop, Woodshop, Sewing & Textiles, and Plastics and Composites!

    The following are important things to know:

    1. Classes will be scheduled March 1st and 8th OR March 15th and 22nd from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

    2. School lunches will be provided

    3. Priority will be given to 12th graders, but if there is space we will enroll in 11th and 10th graders.

    4. Permission slips and Vocademy Liability Waivers must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to school

    5. Students must attend both scheduled days.

    6. Students must ride to Vocademy on the bus and return on the bus. Students may not be dropped off at Vocademy and may not be picked up early from Vocademy.

    7. All school and district rules and policies must be followed.

March 21, 2019 Free Hair Cut Day Eminence Barber Academy will be here on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 9am-2pm providing free hair cuts to our students. Eminence Barber Academy provides a comprehensive barbering program to earn a CA state license to work as a professional Barber. March 21, 2019 Field Trip to Ben Clark Training Center Field Trip To Ben Clark Training Center- Thursday, March 21, 2019 MVC at BCTC provides subject area and general education courses leading to certificates and degrees in public safety education and training, as well as emergency medical services.Students will tour Ben Clark Training Center at the regional training site which provides training to public safety personnel, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection, Riverside County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, and Riverside County Probation Department. Questions: See Mrs. Koopman room 803 June 16-21, 2019 Latino Youth Leadership Summer Program Attention 8th and 9th grade Students and Parents - the Inland Empire Future Leaders Program (IEFLP) is offering an overnight summer camp from June 16-21, 2019 in Idyllwild, CA. This camp is to provide leadership development, college preparation, and mentorship for Latino students throughout the Inland Empire. To apply, students should be in 8th or 9th grade this school year, have demonstrated academic and leadership potential, have a 2.8 GPA or higher, and complete the IEFLP application.
